/ The Marlin’s Jose Fernandez dies in a tragic boat crash, shaking his fans and the city of Miami.
/ Mayor Carlos Gimenez is reelected Mayor of Miami, giving him a mandate to work on public transit and sea level rise.
/ Luxury residential home and condo sales take a beating, remaining stagnant for most of the year.
/ Dwayne Wade shocks fans, leaving the Miami Heat for his hometown of Chicago.
/ Brickell City Center opens, showing the success of Miami’s downtown after decades of planning and development.
/ The Dolphins rally from a 1-4 start to make the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
/ Hurricane Matthew batters the Florida Coast, barely missing Miami.
Happy New Year!
